Time and Space do not mean the same thing to Graham Ducker as it does to the rest of the human race. Plan to be surprised, even flabbergasted by what he presents in these absorbing stories.

Grandma Hall and a six-volume set of books called, The Children’s Hour, were an important influence on Graham Ducker turning into a writer. His creativity shimmers, sparks and sparkles from story to story so don’t be surprised when he gives an inanimate objects or even a nebulous concepts a voice. Don’t be shocked when he develops plots through ethereal conversations. All of this gives his work a sometimes humorous, sometimes thought provoking twist. He often leaves the reader contemplating a possible continuation to a storyline that a lesser writer would have tied up with a pretty bow. This book will leave you thinking.

Reviews:

Here’s to chivalry.  May its original, generous intent never die.  In Graham Ducker’s collection of short stories, I found a writer who loves to write and an imagination that is broad and funny.  Especially funny.  What a great sense of humour and what an important view point.  How often do people get a chance to read something as ordinary as the tale of Prince Charming from the point of view of the association of Prince Charmings?  Anyone who reads these stories will be rewarded with a light-hearted, almost subtle, nuanced message and great writing.  Truly enjoyable.

His plots and descriptions come from a vast background of knowledge and experience and provide the reader with not only entertainment but also challenges. They are sure to become the readers’ favourites. His personal affinity with and love of nature set picturesque and vivid scenes, many of which mirror northern Canadian locations and are developed from his personal travels and experiences.
