The Other Seasons is Allan Briesmaster’s eighth book of poetry. It follows Pomona Summer (Hidden Brook Press, 2005) and Galactic Music (Lyricalmyrical, 2005). A free-lance writer and editor, Allan lives in Thornhill, Ontario with his wife Holly, a visual artist. He has read his poetry in venues from coast to coast, and is himself a reading series organizer and a micro publisher (Aeolus House).

Sought-for equally:
     healing measure
          of the “idyll;”
sharp epiphany.

     Take a lifelong wound,
          that almost binds one
               in silence;
     walk it into sound.

          Let other wind seethe,
     as in the leaves,
          all their seasons:
that the sweet wound breathe.

     What the brief days inter
          was only a
               flesh -- cast off
     for spirit Winter.
