HBP logo

HBP publishes "mostly" Canadian royalty / trade edition books.
We have no specific mandate of how many books or what genre.

Please send, by email, your finished manuscript with a short bio,
and a synopsis of your book.

Tell us who your target audience is.

We have a selection committee that looks at all manuscripts so sometimes
it will take a while for us to get back to you. While it might take a number of months
for us to get back to you we will eventually be in touch. The ms pile is tall.

Because we are a small publisher we only accept "FINISHED" ms for publication.
We do not have any editorial or copy edit staff. The author is responsible for producing the finished ms.

While we do publish some contracted books every year
they are most often books for the academic and USA market place.
All of our Canadian Literature series are royalty / trade edition books.

We are not a drop in Bed and Breakfast open to the public. We are a retreat taking reservations from amateur and professional artists, writers, photographers; birders are always welcome. We provide a quiet, smoke-free* and child-free**, inspiring haven for you to work on your unfinished manuscript, paint or photograph in the park or just rejuvenate by relaxing on one of the many park beaches or on the large back deck. Unlike some B and Bs our guests are welcome to stay in the house all day and come and go as they please.

We are situated in Presqu'ile Provincial Park. You DO NOT have to pay any added park fees to use the park. Just walk out our back yard into the park. *** Bring your bikes and arrive at a variety of beaches within 3 minutes.

We are also looking for "renters" for the months of December to February. You will have the entire house to yourself for those months. We will be out of the country. If you need to be here a bit before or after we can accommodate you but you will have to share the house with us until we leave or when we get back. See the above link for more details.

* Sorry but there is no smoking in the rooms or on the back deck.
** We are child free unless you reserve both rooms at the same time. It is not that we are unfriendly towards children but other guests are here for quiet.
*** We have one driving permit that we share with our guests. if you would like your own driving permit they are available if you wish to drive and park in the park. You do not need a permit to walk, bicycle, swim or picnic in the park.

Cottage Rental:

Kim is also the property manager for a cottage in Presqu'ile Provincial Park.
